EAST PEORIA, Ill. –FOLEPI’s Winter Wonderland display opened for the holiday season on Black Friday. This is the 30th year it’s been a part of the Festival of Lights tradition.
Driving through the display, you will see all 40 of the floats from the Festival of Lights parade that was held on Nov. 18. There are additional lights and displays supplementing the floats in FOLEPI’s Winter Wonderland.
Officials say 25,000 vehicles are expected to drive through the Winter Wonderland this year.
Jill Peterson, with the City of East Peoria, tells 25 News, Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days, but this year, there are some new incentives for those who stop by during the week.
“Monday is “Chick-fil-A Monday” and every car gets Chick-fil-A coupons. Tuesday is “Letters to Santa Tuesday.” Santa himself will be here to accept letters from the little kids and he’ll stick his head in the car. He likes to take selfies,” Peterson said. “And then Wednesday is “Elevate Trampoline Park Wednesday.” Visitors will get coupons to Elevate Trampoline Park.”
You can visit the Winter Wonderland through January 1. The display will be open each night, including holidays, until then.
The hours are:
- 5 – 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday
- 5 – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
- 5 – 9 p.m. December 24 through January 1
