The Morning Mix with Janine Fairchild and Scott Wheeler
Weekdays, 5:30am – 9am
About The Show
Whether you hit the ground running or hit the snooze five times, life’s too short for boring radio. Grab your cup of coffee, turn up the volume, put a smile on your face and listen to the Morning Mix with Janine Fairchild and Scott Wheeler.

Meet Janine Fairchild
Just a small-town girl from Metamora, Janine has lived in and loved Central Illinois all her life. From Pekin where she and husband Greg taught high school together, to Dunlap where they raised both their children and Greg is the principal at Banner Elementary. And now with both kids married, the empty nesters reside in the heart of Peoria with their calico kitty Sadie.

Meet Scott Wheeler – Peoria’s Radio Legend!
Scott Wheeler has been a beloved voice in Peoria radio for an incredible 45 years, starting at the legendary KZ93 in the early ’80s. Over the years, he’s been a fixture at stations like Big Oldies 93.3, WCIC, and 102.7 SuperHits. After a brief retirement in late 2023, Scott (aka “Wheelz”) made a surprise return to help his friend Janine Fairchild on the Mix 106.9 morning show – a short-term gig that turned into a full-time love affair with radio once again!
Now, you can catch Scott and Janine every weekday morning from 5:30 am – 9:00 am on Mix 106.9, sharing laughs, smiles, and plenty of good vibes.
Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Scott’s radio journey began at just 15 years old. What does he love most about being on the air? Making YOU smile and laugh! And when Scott laughs, you’ll know it – “That’s gotta be Scott!”
Tune in and start your mornings with the one and only Wheelz!
