UPDATED 7:08 P.M.
PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating human remains found Sunday morning, and the coroner says they are confirmed to be that of a man missing since June.
The Sheriff’s Office responded at around 11:15 A.M. to a male who found the remains while hunting in a wooded area.
The male reportedly was tracking a deer when he found the remains.
The remains were found in the 300 block of North Kickapoo Creek Rd., just east of Kickapoo Creek near Horseshoe Bottom.
The Sheriff’s Office says the remains were unidentifiable on scene, and that nothing found initially indicates foul play is involved.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, along with the family through social media, have been confirmed to be that of Logan Dunne, 32, Brimfield. Dunne went missing in June after receiving some mental health treatment at a Peoria hospital.
Harwood says he will release more details Tuesday.
