EAST PEORIA, Ill. – An East Peoria man is dead after being hit by a car late Friday night.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Anthony Whaley, 57, was pronounced dead at a Peoria Hospital less than a half hour after the crash reported around 11:30 p.m. on East Washington Street , not far from East Peoria High School.
Harwood says Whaley – a pedestrian – was taken to the hospital in grave condition, and an autopsy shows multiple blunt force trauma injuries that likely caused him to die instantly.
East Peoria Police is said to be still investigating the accident.
