HANNA CITY, Ill. – If you’re looking for a spooky good time this weekend, bring the family out to Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City.
Over the next three weekends, the park will be transformed into Wildlife Scary Park…with spooky train rides, trick-or-treating, hayrack rides and more.
“Some people think it’s more for younger kids, but we really have been doing things over the last two years that appeal to that older kid. Kids like the teenagers,” Wildlife Prairie Park CEO Roberta English says.
Something that likely will appeal to teens and adults is the new Haunted Old School House, which is new for the event’s 38th year. They’ve also brought back the Gollywhopper Slide, which is 55 feet long and will be lit up after dark.
“People just love our slide, so we wanted to find a way to integrate it into the Wildlife Scary Park once again, so, we’re doing that…and I think people are really going to be excited about that,” English says.
English says they’ve added an extra weekend this year to Wildlife Scary Park, since they’ve sold out quickly in years past.
There are walk-in tickets available, but English suggests getting tickets ahead of time for October 13-15, 20-22 and 27-29.
Train rides on Fridays begin at 4 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Parking is free, and children 2 and under get in for free with their parents’ admission.
