NORMAL, Ill. – Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says a juvenile has been arrested for Peoria’s 17th homicide of the year.
Watkins says a 17-year-old juvenile is charged with First-Degree Murder for the death of 21-year-old Mason Loy.
Watkins says sheriffs deputies, Normal Police, and an Illinois State Police SWAT Team went to an apartment building on Willow Street in Normal around 8:00 Monday night and made the arrest.
Loy suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, and died at the scene Saturday night in the parking lot of Laramie Liquors in Peoria.
Watkins says the juvenile is in custody in Peoria, and there are no other suspects.
