PEORIA, Ill. – Millions were raised once again by Central Illinois in the fight against childhood cancer.
This was the 46th year for the Saint Jude Telethon, aired live on 25 News Saturday night.
Organizers say $11,094,238 was raised, $643,982 more than last year.
Around half of that was raised through the annual Memphis to Peoria run, and satellite runs throughout the area.
In all the years of the telethon, $179,805,343 has been raised for Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Next year’s telethon is scheduled for July 20.
