PEORIA, Ill. – Two juveniles are in trouble with the law after they allegedly were discovered in a stolen vehicle.
Peoria Police say it happened around 1:15 Wednesday morning, but when officers first saw the vehicle drive away from Farmington Road near Main Street at a high rate of speed, officers didn’t pursue it.
Officers later saw the car drive down an alley on Parkside Drive, with three juveniles fleeing the vehicle and failing to put it in park, striking a squad car.
Two 17-year-old males eventually were caust, and now face a host of charges each, with one being wanted on a warrant.
They’re in custody, with police still looking for the third suspect.
The charges for the 17-year-old driver are: Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Hit and Run, Criminal Damage to State Supported Property, Obstructing Police.
The charges for a 17-year-old passenger are: Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Obstructing Justice, Obstructing Police, and an active warrant.
Police said the vehicle was reported stolen from “another jurisdiction.”
