PEORIA, Ill. — Two people are recovering after being shot in separate incidents Saturday night in Peoria.
Peoria Police say the first shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, after officers were called to NE Madison, between Wayne and Morgan Streets.
When officers arrived, they found a man who’d been shot in the leg. His injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
PPD said the victim told them he was approached by two men wearing masks, saying they tried to rob him before he was shot.
A search for suspects came up negative.
Around 11 p.m., PPD was called to the area of N. Wisconsin and E. Nebraska Avenues on a ShotSpotter alert indicating 28 rounds were fired.
When officers arrived, they were told by witnesses that an unknown vehicle drove by a juvenile’s birthday party, and fired shots.
Officers were also told a male juvenile had been shot and taken to a hospital by private vehicle. The juvenile’s injuries were non-life-threatening, according to Peoria Police.
In a statement, PPD said the victim told them he was walking through a parking lot near Wisconsin and Kansas when he was shot by an unknown person from inside the vehicle.
Police were unable to locate any suspects. Both incidents remain under investigation.
