PEORIA, Ill. – The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Flood Warning along the Illinois River at Peoria from Friday evening until further notice.
The flood warned area is for Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties.
As of Thursday the river stage was at 16.3 feet.
Flood stage is at 18-feet.
The river is expected to rise above flood stage by Friday evening and continue to rise to near 21.9 feet by Monday evening.
Flooding along the Illinois river near Peoria staging at 22.7 feet, will begin to flood low lying areas in Peoria Heights and Peoria`s Riverfront Park.
