UPDATED 7:15 P.M.
RURAL WASHINGTON, Ill. – Fire has caused some pretty extensive damage to a rural Tazewell County farm.
Washington Fire Battalion Chief Tyler Gee says the fire at Northtown Farms on Cruger Road in rural Washington was first reported just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, and knocked down in about a half hour.
The fire damaged a machine shed and what was described as a farm building with grain in it.
Gee says the fire appears to be accidental but an investigation continues.
Because there was no fire hydrant in the area, crews had to get water from a pond across the road, near the intersection of Cruger Road and County Road 2900 East.
No one was hurt.
The Northern Tazewell, Eureka, Metamora, and Germantown Hills Fire Departments provided mutual aid to Washington.
