PEORIA, Ill. – A 16-year-old will be tried as an adult on charges accusing him of shooting and killing a man at Taft Homes almost a month ago.
That’s part of what was learned at an arraignment Thursday for Lamarion Wright. He faces three counts of First Degree Murder and one cont of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Prosecutors claim video surveillance of the construction site at Taft Homes showed Christopher Tillman, 46, trying to run away from Wright when he was shot September 20.
Surveillance video also allegedly identified Wright as being in a convenience store before the shooting.
Wright pleaded not guilty and asked for a trial by jury. He’ll be back in court December 22nd, ahead of a trial as soon as January 3rd, and is jailed on $2 million bond.
