PEORIA, Ill. — We’re learning more about a traffic crash that involved a Peoria Public School bus this morning.
According to Peoria Police, two of the kids on board the school bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say there were roughly half-a-dozen children riding on the bus at the time of the crash, around 8:20 a.m.
A car hit the school bus in an area near Caroline and Northeast Monroe Streets.
The intersection was shut down for 90 minutes or so while crews worked to clear the scene.
PPD says they are unlikely to release further details in the incident.
It’s unclear if there were any charges filed or citations issued.

PEORIA, Ill. — Caroline Street in Peoria was closed at Monroe, due to a crash Tuesday morning involving a school bus.
Peoria Public Schools Spokesperson Thomas Bruch has confirmed that a PPS bus was involved in the accident, but provided no further information.
Caroline Street was reopened to traffic just after 10 a.m. following an investigation into the crash.
No information on injuries has been released at this time.
