CHILLICOTHE, Ill. (25 News) – The sister of Christopher Neff says the family is “heartbroken” in the wake of his passing.
“Always been there, anytime I needed him,” Michelle Neff tells 25 News. “So, the first thing I thought is ‘Who am I going to turn to?’”
Christopher Neff, 49, of East Peoria died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Chillicothe Monday morning. He was picking up debris from the road at Route 29 and Hillcrest from a prior vehicle crash at the time of the incident.
Christopher was wearing neon clothing and had lights illuminating on his vehicle when the crash occurred. Michelle says his passing is hard to understand because of that.
“I want people to slow down in construction zones, pay attention. And people do not pay attention nowadays. They’re not looking,” Michelle says.
Christopher leaves behind a wife and 14 children. A GoFundMe has been set up by Michelle to help support the family.
