PEORIA, Ill. – A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon at Bradley University led to the arrest of two men on weapons charges.
Peoria Police says the stop was made in the area of Bradley and Institute just after 4:00 P.M., where officers saw three males in the vehicle.
During a search, officers reportedly found two loaded handguns, one of which was reported stolen, on two of the males.
All three were taken in for questioning, with one of the three released.
25-year-old Anthony Campbell was arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card.
21-year-old Xavier Riley was arrested on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card.
Both Campbell and Riley were taken to the Peoria County Jail.
