PRINCEVILLE, Ill. (25 News) – A man wanted in connection with an animal cruelty case in Princeville back in May has been arrested.
Police arrested 41-year-old Stephen Kalb on Friday at the East Peoria Walmart on a warrant for aggravated animal cruelty and violation of animal care charges.
Investigators found 12 dogs – one of them dead – inside a hot shed with no food or water at the home of his girlfriend Stacey Mueller.
Nine other animals inside the home were also taken.
Mueller has pleaded not guilty.
Kalb left the state shortly after the animals were seized and recently returned to Illinois.
