PEKIN, Ill. – The all-clear has been given after a reported bomb threat at a Pekin manufacturer.
Pekin Police say they used the help of Peoria Police’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit when searching for a bomb Wednesday afternoon at Winpak Heat Seal Corporation on Riverway Drive.
25 News reports a bomb threat was called in to the facility, but a search turned up nothing.
Police say employees were evacuated to a safe location as a precaution.
An investigation continues, and police say anyone who might know who did it is asked to call the Pekin Police investigation division at (309) 478-5309, or Greater Peoria Area Crime Stoppers at (309) 673-9000.
