KEWANEE, Ill. – Two juveniles charged with a murder in a nearby community in Henry County are now facing stronger charges, and the name of one of the two has been released.
Police in Kewanee say Jeremy Colombani, 16, and a 14-year-old juvenile now face counts of First-Degree Murder instead of Second-Degree Murder.
They also face Aggravated Battery and other counts, and both remain in juvenile custody.
The incident happened Saturday night at a local home. Clifton Parks, 38, was found with multiple stab wounds, and died at a local hospital.
Two adults, Juston Kentner, 34, and Andrea Peach, 35 — both of Kewanee — are facing Obstruction of Justice charges, while Kentner is also charged with Aggravated battery.
Police have not said what led to the stabbing, other than police were initially called to a home in question for a disturbance.
