PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is in trouble with the law for allegedly having a gun in his possession.
Peoria Police say it started around 2:15 a.m. Friday at Newman Parkway and Mission Road in Central Peoria, as officers conducted a traffic stop.
Officers say they discovered a handgun near the driver, and that the gun was loaded and reported stolen.
Jason Vance, 39, was arrtested on charges including: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Firearm without a
Valid FOID Card, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Driving on a Suspended License and two warrants on file.
Vance is in the Peoria County Jail pending a bond hearing.
Three others in the car were detained without incident.
