PEORIA, Ill. — A group of women engaged in giving have announced thousands of dollars in private grants for several local non-profits.
The women of IMPACT Central Illinois have announced $260,000 has been awarded to four different charity groups in the region.
Grant recipients include Dream Center Peoria, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, the Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired — as well as Invictus Woods.
Dream Center and Lutheran Social each received $110,000 while Center for the Blind and Invictus Woods each received $20,000 grants.
IMPACT is an all-women’s philanthropy group with chapters all across the country.
The Central Illinois chapter has now grown to more than 200 members.
Each individual commits $1,100 to a large pot of money among members which is then delivered annually to deserving non-profit groups.
