PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police were involved in a officer-involved shooting incident late Sunday night.
PPD said just before midnight, officers were called to the area of E. McClure and N. Atlantic Avenue on reports of suspicious activity, and someone armed with a gun.
Officers made contact with the man, who fled on foot.
PPD pursued the subject, during which there was an exchange of gunfire.
The male suspect got away, and is not in custody.
No officers were injured in the incident.
An investigation has been turned over to Illinois State Police.
Police have not been able to identify the suspect, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
He should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
