LEWISTOWN, Ill. – The trial for the man accused of shooting and killing a Fulton County Sheriffs Deputy that started a 17 hour standoff with police has begun.
Our news partner 25 News reports the first day of the trial of Nathan Woodring, 44, began Monday.
Woodring faces a charge of First-Degree Murder for allegedly shooting and killing Deputy Troy Chisum when he responded to a domestic disturbance at Woodring’s rural Avon home in late-June of 2019.
No word on how long the trial could last. Woodring could face as much as 60 years in prison if convicted.
