PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded around 6 p.m. Monday to the scene of a crash between a Peoria Public school bus and an SUV on Jefferson and Bryan. The school bus ended up nearly running into the Salvation Army Building near the intersection.
Public Information Officer Semone Roth said several students were on board the bus at the time of the accident. Some of them were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, while others were picked up by their parents. All of the students were accounted for.
The SUV had four occupants inside. All of them were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with serious injuries, some of them life-threatening.
Peoria Police, Fire, AMT and Public Works were on scene.
Peoria Police Traffic Unit is investigating.
