PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded Friday night at 9:51 p.m. to the 500 block of E Kansas St. after a nearby officer heard shots fired.
A ShotSpotter alert was also received from the area indicating multiple rounds fired.
A private party was being held at the East Bluff Community Center and had reached its capacity limit.
A group of individuals were denied entry into the building. After being denied entry, one of the people in the group forced the door open and fired shots into the building.
Someone from inside the building then returned fire.
Officers were dispatched citywide to the scene to search for victims and suspects.
After searching the building and area surrounding it, no victims were found.
According to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson, no victims have since come forward or been driven to a hospital in a private vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation by Peoria Police.
