WASHINGTON D.C. — President Donald Trump said that many cities are becoming hot spots.
Trump said that the CDC has announced more on the transmission of the virus, including those who do not show symptoms are playing a significant role in the spread.
Trump said that Americans can voluntarily chose to wear cloth face masks out in public to help protect themselves from COVID-19. The president said that he will not.
“I want to emphasize that the CDC is not recommending the use of medical grade or surgical grade masks, and we want that to be used for our great medical people,” Trump said.
For the next 60 days, Blue Cross Blue Shield will not have a co-pay for treatment for those who have COVID-19.
Trump said that hoarded medical supplies will be given out to medical facilities.
“The Department of Health and Human Services working with the Department of Justice took custody of nearly 200,000 N95 respirators, 130,000 surgical masks, 600,000 gloves, as well as bottles, many, many, many bottles in disinfectant sprays that were being hoarded,” Trump said.
Trump said that we are in a war with an invisible enemy, and retired military personnel are coming back to action.
Various National Guards are helping by delivering medical supplies.
Trump said that more tests for COVID-19 treatments are in the works with experts.
Trump is working to help out small businesses keep their employees during this time, so employees will not have to be let go and able to work.
The energy business has been hit hard by this pandemic according to Trump.
The virus has stopped the demand of oil, which can be used to help energy businesses.
Trump urges citizens to stay home and stay healthy.
“We will heal our citizens,” Trump said.
